World Figure Skating Championships – Be a Spectator

The World Figure Skating Championships is the most prestigious annual figure skating competition.

My next opportunity to attend a World Figure Skating Championships will be in Shanghai in 2015 and Boston in 2016.

Boston would be the more economical of the two to shoot for.

I will update the blog when I start making my World Championships plans.

U.S. Figure Skating Championships – Be a Spectator

Figure skating is one of my favorite spectator sports.  I first began following the sport when Tonya Harding captured my interest in the years leading up to the Tonya vs Nancy scandal and have been a devoted fan ever since.

I have had the opportunity to attend several skating shows, but have never had the chance to attend a competition.  I had made vague plans to attend the championships in Greensboro, NC back in 2011, but I slipped on some wet steps and broke my ankle and wasn’t able to go.

The next U.S. Figure Skating Championships will once again be held in Greensboro, NC in 2015.  If I can rustle up the funds for the trip, this would be an ideal location, since I have a number of friends in the area that I haven’t visited since I moved out of NC in early 2011.

If not, my next chance would be the 2016 championships in Saint Paul.  Of course, the most exciting time to attend would be in the Olympic year of 2018, but the location for that championships has not yet been announced.
