The Harry Potter marathon should be pretty easy to cross off my list, since I already own all 8 movies on Blu-ray. I just need to set aside the chunk of time to knock this one out.
I love science fiction and fantasy books and movies and even though the Harry Potter series was intended for young adults, it has become one of my favorites. While the later movies had to leave some big chunks of the books out, this is one of the few series where I liked at least some of the movies better than their book counterparts.
The special effects are a little dodgy in the first film, but the cast is mostly perfect and the films are an enjoyable way to experience J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world.
Next to the Wheel of Time series, the Song of Ice and Fire a.k.a. Game of Thrones series is my favorite series of high fantasy novels.
I have read the first four books and started the fifth a few times, but the slow pace of the latest novels and years between releases sapped my fervor and I have yet to complete it.
I will probably go ahead and read the fifth book before the next season of the TV series starts, but ultimately, if and when George finally finishes all 7 (or possibly 8 according to his publisher) novels, I intend to binge read the whole thing.
If he doesn’t pick up the pace, I fear Martin may pull a Robert Jordan on us and leave us hoping for someone else to finish the series.
I will update the blog when I start my Game of Thrones book marathon.
Reading all 14 Wheel of Time books is a task I have set out on several times, but never quite seen through all the way.
I read the first 11 books when they originally came out and then decided I would just wait for the rest to be published and read the whole thing together. I got as far as book 7 a couple of times and then got distracted.
However, I am determined to complete the whole thing….of course so was Robert Jordan, so maybe I should get cracking.
I will update the blog when I start my epic Wheel of Time Marathon.
Welcome to the Bucket List Ninja blog! I will be posting my bucket list and then detailing my efforts to cross off all of my bucket list items and become the ultimate bucket list ninja!
I started blogging my quest to achieve 100000 gamerscore on a previous blog and rather than trying to keep up with multiple blogs, I decided to import those posts over here.
In the coming days I will share my current bucket list and start posting what I am doing to achieve various items on the list.
I hope you enjoy the journey and feel free to share your own bucket list stories.
100000 Gamerscore – Bucket List Item #1
I started the 100000 gamerscore bucket list item by beefing up my Xbox 360 collection, so that I would have enough games in my possession to achieve 100000 gamerscore. Most of the games were Ebay purchases and games I bought during buy 2 get 1 free sales at Gamestop. I also pick up a couple games a month via “Games for Gold.” Using these sources I was able to amass over 100 games for around $100.
I will update the blog when I get ready to tackle this item.
