Survivor is probably best known as the show that started the reality television craze in the United states back in the summer of 2000.
The show has undergone a number of variations over the years, but the basic premise is the same. A number of people of various backgrounds, fitness and skill levels are “stranded” on an island and must compete to outwit, outplay and outlast their competitors in order to win the title of sole survivor and win the $1 million prize.
Though Survivor doesn’t require the same level of fitness as American Ninja Warrior, due to the rigors of camp life and the often physically demanding immunity challenges, I would like to have a reasonable level of fitness before trying out, though probably not be all the way at goal, since a bit of flab is actually an asset in an environment where you are going to be subsisting on rice and beans for up to 30+ days.
I will update the blog when I am ready to start preparing to audition.
